A WEEKEND AT THE "BIG BARN SALE" IN MANCHESTER, VT

September in Vermont is beautiful any way you slice it. Apple picking, farmers markets, harvest markets, and THE BARN SALE!! The Barn Sale is an annual indoor tag sale held at the Northshire Civic Center in Manchester, VT in mid September.

This year, we made it a family affair when my daughter and I hopped in our Subaru and headed "south". We met up with my sister, Kathleen and our mom, Judy who had just arrived for the week from her home in Florida.

The Big Barn Sale is a fundraiser for United Counseling Services in Bennington County and this sale is crazy good!! It is set up like a boutique or retail store, organized and clearly marked. Saturday was crawling with shoppers delighting in the most versatile and incredible assortment of treasures. Waterford Crystal, Limoges dishware, local pottery, designer clothing, linens, furniture, artwork, seasonal decor, and on and on!!

Get there early and, if you can, go on Sunday where all items are marked 50% off. Half price is where I hit my stride and purchased all of my goodies. Mark
